Itaguaí releases dry bulk tender

A tender has been issued for a new dry bulk terminal at the Brazilian port of Itaguaí, which is being managed by the Rio de Janeiro port company.

Four years ago, a previous tender had to be withdrawn because of a lack of environmental clearance. This time around, the license has already been granted.

Mining companies Arcelor Mittal, Ferrous Resources and Usiminas are all in support of the $1bn project, which will have an operating area of 245,000 m2 and an annual capacity of 25m tonnes.
