Santos Tecondi concession declared illegal

Brazils Federal Court has declared void the concession agreement currently held by the Tecondi container terminal in the port of Santos on the back of bidding and licensing errors.

A questionmark now hangs over the Tecondi concession

In addition, the Court of Audit has mandated that the contract could not be extended under any circumstances following its expiry.

The original 25 year concession contains an option for a further 25 years, but the ruling deemed the concession illegal because it was awarded without any prior bidding or an environmental licence.
