São Sebastião to offer new container concession

The concession consists of an area of 250,000 square metres, accessed by two berths, with alongside draft of 18-19 metres. The expectation is that around nine million tons of traffic will be handled there annually, consisting of either general cargo or containers.

Up for grabs is a 25-year concession. The expansion plan for the port, which currently occupies an area of 100,000 square metres, initially envisions developing land to form 300,000 square metres of operating area, later increasing this to 400,000 square metres and, ultimately, to 800,000 square metres. However, this will be a phased development of the port, depending on the needs of the operators and on whether new traffic can be attracted.
