SmartportLab joins innovation network
The Port Innovators Network (PIN) has welcomed SmartportLab, the innovation hub of the Port of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, to its growing network.
Established in October 2023, PIN connects hubs from Hamburg, Halifax and Valencia, fostering global collaboration. This latest signing marks a key expansion into South America.
“With SmartportLab, PIN gains a key player in port innovation in Argentina and South America, expanding the footprint of the network and creating new collaboration opportunities,” said Antonio Torregrosa, general manager, Fundación Valenciaport, speaking for PIN and Opentop.
SmartportLab is a startup incubator and accelerator focused on open innovation programmes that connect talent with major players in the port logistics sector. Its mission is to create a smarter, more efficient and sustainable port-industrial network integrated with the community.
As a new member, SmartportLab will link its port innovation community with PIN, the first global network of port innovation hubs. This connection enhances collaboration among startups, corporates, entrepreneurs and partners across all PIN locations.
“Joining the PIN will allow us to accelerate our growth and international expansion process, giving us the privilege of building the port of the future alongside leading global organisations,” said Martin Virdis, head of innovation, Puerto Bahia Blanca.
