As well as managing cruise operations, GPH will also invest in an upgrade of the cruise port facilities, including the expansion of the existing berth in Point Seraphine which will allow for the handling of Oasis class ships.

Also part of the deal is a redevelopment of the retail facilities at Vendor’s Arcade and Castries as well as improving amenities in and around the port such as at Fisherman’s Village.

In 2019, St Lucia welcomed around 790,000 passengers. With the completion of the extended pier and facilities upgrade this is expected to rise to more than one million in the medium term.

Contract signing is anticipated during the first half of 2023.
