Port of Oakland board appointments
Port commissioners at Oakland, California, have elected Barbara Leslie as board president for a second term.
Yui Hay Lee will begin his second term as the first vice president and Andreas Cluver will replace outgoing commissioner Cestra Butner as second vice president.
Leslie joined the Oakland Board of Port Commissioners in 2018. She assumed the role of first vice president from 2020-2022, before becoming president in 2022. She has also served as the chief executive of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce since 2014.
“I am looking forward to continuing our work, in partnership with our stakeholders, on numerous green initiatives that will help the port achieve zero emissions from operations,” she said.
“Our board passionately supports responsible growth and appreciates port staff’s commitment to finding and implementing innovative solutions to accomplish this goal.”
This is also Yui Hay Lee’s second consecutive term as first vice president. He joined the board in 2018, holding the post of second vice president from 2020-2022. Lee is the former president and chief executive Oakland-based YHLA Architects, which he founded in 1980.
Second vice president Andreas Cluver returns to a leadership role on the board. Joining the board in 2016, Cluver was president from 2020-2022 and first vice president from 2018-2020. He is the secretary-treasurer of the Alameda County Building and Trades Association.
The three officers will serve in their roles for the next 12 months.
