Cosco launches Europe/South America service

Cosco Shipping has launched a new weekly service connecting north Europe and the Mediterranean with the east coast of South America.

The new ESE2 service will include reportedly the fastest transit time between Algeciras, Spain and Santos, Brazil of just 12 days.

ESE2 fully covers the South America East region, radiating to markets such as Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Callings include Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Paranagua, Itapoa and other major ports in Plata.

Port calls in Europe include Rotterdam, London Gateway, Hamburg, Antwerp and Lisbon. Typical transit times between Santos and Rotterdam are 18 days west to east and 26 in reverse.

The new ESE2 service will begin in Montevideo, Uruguay on 16 September 2023 with Cosco Shipping’s Xin Nan Tong the first vessel on the new route. In Europe, Xin Chong Qing will begin its crossing on 21 September 2023 from Rotterdam.

The rotation is as follows:

Rotterdam – London Gateway – Hamburg – Antwerp – Lisbon – Algeciras – Santos – Paranagua – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Itapoa – Paranagua – Santos – Rio De Janeiro – Algeciras – Rotterdam.
