The International Maritime Organization’s Secretary-General will join the #IAPH2024 World Ports Conference in Hamburg, Germany.
Arsenio Dominguez will participate in a keynote panel discussion covering ‘Ports and Shipping - Delivering on the IMO 2024-2029 Strategic Plan’, scheduled to take place on day one, Tuesday 8 October.

Dominguez will be joined by Jens Meier, chief executive of Hamburg Port Authority and IAPH president, and Nikolaus H. Schües, president of BIMCO.
The panel will debate how ports and shipping stakeholders can work towards vital industry goals and how collaboration will be a key factor in achieving this.
At the end of 2023, the IMO Assembly adopted a strategic plan for the period 2024-2029, outlining eight directions, namely regulatory effectiveness, capacity building, human resources, reducing GHG emissions and enhancing facilitation, supply chain resilience and security of global trade.
During this keynote debate the speakers will discuss how these objectives can be accomplished in the coming years.
