Scottish port upgrade boosts offshore wind

Port owner Haventus has secured a further £100 million to fund the redevelopment of Ardersier Port in Scotland, boosting the UK’s offshore wind capability

The joint credit facility from the Scottish National Investment Bank and UK Infrastructure Bank follows an initial £300 million cash injection from energy investment firm, Quantum Capital Group, in 2023.

Located around 16 km east of Inverness, Ardersier is the UK’s largest brownfield port. Its redevelopment will boost offshore wind installation in the North Sea.
