Brownsville lands transformational shipyard investment

The Port of Brownsville has secured one of the largest economic development projects in Texas history with the announcement that Saronic Technologies will build its US$3.2 billion Port Alpha shipyard at the south Texas port

At full build-out, the site could expand to nearly 4,400 acres and include facilities capable of producing vessels up to 850 feet long (260 metres), with future expansion supporting ships exceeding 1,200 feet (366 metres).
