The Alabama Port Authority has taken a major step forward in the development of the Montgomery Intermodal Container Transfer Facility, inking a deal with Konecranes for the delivery of two rubber-tyred gantry cranes

The high-tech cranes will form the backbone of container handling operations at the US$100 million inland rail terminal, currently under construction.

The RTGs, scheduled for delivery in late 2026, will feature smart technology to improve safety, precision and yard efficiency.
