Global container shipping maintained strong momentum during the first half of 2026, with volumes continuing to grow despite geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty, according to the latest analysis from Container Trades Statistics

Worldwide container liftings reached 98.4 million teu during the first six months of the year, representing a 5.2% increase compared with the same period in 2025 and a 9.8% rise on H1 2024.
