The Port of Hueneme in California and the Port of Paita in Peru are joining as sister ports, solidifying a collaborative relationship aimed at increasing trade, strengthening economic ties and sharing sustainable port management practices

The sister port agreement emphasises strategic goals such as improving transparency in procurement, developing new trade routes and enhancing maritime logistics between the two nations.

Peru is already the Port of Hueneme’s fourth largest trading partner by volume, and Hueneme is uniquely positioned as the only West Coast port certified to handle Peruvian blueberries under cold treatment protocols.
