The Port of Leith’s new Charles Hammond Berth has proven its world-class deep-water credentials during a landmark marine operation for the Royal Navy’s latest Type 31 frigate

The successful float-off of HMS Venturer marked the first time the vessel entered the River Forth and a significant milestone in its construction.

Constructed primarily for the offshore wind industry, the Charles Hammond Berth’s sheltered location and deep-water access make it ideal for large-scale and bespoke marine operations like this.
