The Port of Luleå is set for a major expansion after contracts were signed for the remaining dredging works under the Malmporten project, clearing the way for Sweden’s largest-ever dredging programme to begin in 2027

The agreement between the Swedish Maritime Administration, the Port of Luleå and contractor Malmporten Dredging Contractors marks the final milestone before construction starts on the SEK5.7 billion (€490 million) project, which is expected to be completed in August 2030.
