Manila expansion boosts Philippines’ trade

The Manila South Harbour in the Philippines, has received a major upgrade following the completion of key projects by DP World and its local partner, Asian Terminals Inc.

The enhancements, amounting to an investment of around US$100 million, are set to significantly boost the country’s trade capacity and long-term economic growth.

The developments include the extension of Pier 3’s berth to over 600 metres, expansion of container yards to hold 20,000 teu, the addition of two neo post-panamax ship-to-shore cranes and the purchase of eco-friendly landside equipment.
