The Port of Middlesbrough is set to strengthen its role as a key freight gateway with the development of a new £5 million dry bulk rail terminal, increasing capacity for manufacturers, importers and exporters while supporting more sustainable freight transport

Due for completion in spring 2027, the facility will handle commodities including fertilisers, aggregates, salt, industrial minerals and energy products, helping regional businesses access UK and international markets more efficiently.
