Port Fòrum in Barcelona has begun construction on the reinforcement of its outer breakwater, a strategic infrastructure project aimed at enhancing coastal protection, harbour safety and environmental sustainability

The initiative marks a major step forward in climate-resilient development for one of the city’s most emblematic waterfront areas.

The project officially commenced this week with the installation of the first Xbloc concrete block, making Port Fòrum the first port in Spain to implement this coastal protection system.
