Port Strategy: Port Hedland's massive 18m tonnes per annum capacity multi-user Utah Point Berth Project will bolster west coast capacity

Major works to reinforce critical port infrastructure are progressing at the Port of Port Hedland as the final stage of the Pilbara Ports Eastern Harbour Revetment Upgrade project gets under way

The project involves renewing degraded sections of the inner harbour revetment wall through the installation of new rock armour, designed to protect the wharf structure from coastal erosion and improve cyclone resilience.

The final phase covers revetment sections from Berth 1 to Berth 3 and between Berth 3 and BHP’s Nelson Point Berth A, building on previous upgrades at Berth 3 and the Nelson Point Tug Haven.
