Transport Committee invites port planning feedback

The latest phase of work at Port of Felixstowe will include the reclamation of 3.2 hectares of seabed

The Transport Committee has launched a new inquiry into the government’s proposed updates to the National Policy Statement for Ports, which sets out the planning framework for major port infrastructure projects across the UK

The NPSP guides applicants seeking development consent orders for nationally significant port developments and also shapes the criteria used by the Transport Secretary in approving or rejecting applications.

First introduced in 2012, this marks the first proposed revision in over a decade.
