UN reports Yemen port damage

The UN confirms severe damage to Yemen’s Red Sea ports, with less than 25% of capacity remaining, hindering relief efforts. In Hodeida, four of five tugboats are sunk, and port capacity is down 70%. As of January 2025, only two months of cereal and fuel supplies remain. Controlled by the Houthis since 2014, Hodeida has been a launch site for attacks on Israel, prompting airstrike reprisals.
