WATCH: Thessaloniki pier expansion reaches milestone
Construction of the new Pier 6 at the Port of Thessaloniki has reached a major milestone with the successful installation of the first caisson, marking the first visible stage of an expansion project designed to transform the port into a leading trade and logistics hub for southeastern and central Europe
The reinforced concrete caisson, built at a dedicated facility within the Thessaloniki Port Authority site, was transported by sea and positioned to form the first structural section of the new quay.
