Circle boosts predictive port logistics
Circle Group, an Italian SME specialising in digitalisation and consultancy for the port and logistics sectors, has significantly upgraded its predictive solutions through the integration of its Milos Intelligence suite with two proprietary platforms – Milos TAP (Truck Appointment Platform) and Milos TFP (Transport Federative Platform).
The integration enhances the existing port community system (PCS), already connected with the port management information system (PMIS) and the national logistics platform.
“With this type of solution,” said Luca Abatello, chief executive of Circle Group, “we provide ports with concrete tools to face the challenges of intermodality and sustainability.”
By June 2026 new functionalities will be added including predictive traffic flow management with a digital twin, customs interoperability, dangerous goods tracking, environmental monitoring dashboards and early warnings for arriving vehicles.
Milos TAP enables road haulage operators to book terminal access time slots intelligently, improving vehicle flow and aligning plans with real-time operations. Milos TFP tracks traffic and supports simulations, proving vital during congestion or unexpected disruptions. Both platforms support AI-driven predictive models to forecast arrivals, stops and resource needs.
The project unfolds in several phases – data analysis, architecture design, development, testing and validation – with a strong focus on integration and scalability. A standout feature is the digital twin system, simulating real-time vehicle movement on georeferenced maps to identify and address operational issues quickly.
