Rotterdam standardises port location data

The Port of Rotterdam has taken a major step in its ongoing port call optimisation efforts with a significant uptick in the accuracy and accessibility of terminal and berth location data

This initiative, conducted in partnership with the Royal Netherlands Navy Hydrographic Service, ensures safer and more efficient port visits from the moment a ship departs its previous port until it leaves Rotterdam.

Historically, location data was linked to terminal names, which could change with ownership and lead to confusion. Now, unique global location numbers have been assigned to port infrastructure.
