Since 2017, TIPC Marine Corporation Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TIPM) has signed a large number of contracts providing vessel services and onshore facility for several well-known companies such as Taipower, Formosa I, Formosa II, Ørsted, Boskalis, CDWE and Van Oord.
It is the best demonstration of TIPM’s high quality services recognized by both domestic and foreign companies.
By this year solely, TIPM has signed total 8 contracts for providing vessels more than 1,000 working days in total. The fleet includes 4 CTVs (crew transfer vessel), large cargo barge, high-horsepower tugs and a crane barge.
At present, 4 CTVs of TIPM, namely No.22601, 22602, 22603, 22605, have been involved in operation and maintenance (O&M) services for offshore wind farms. CTV is mainly responsible for personnel and material transportation and windfarm guarding task. It’s worth of mentioning that Ørsted took the lead in signing a CTV long-term O&M contract with TIPM. TIPM has passed Ørsted Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standard audit, and become a qualified vessel supplier of Ørsted. The contract started in January 2022 and it will last for more than 1,000 working days.
In addition, TIPM No.514001 barge can provide transportation services for large components and offshore substations. From June this year, TIPM will cooperate with CDWE for the windfarm installation of Zhong-neng project.
TIPM 12603 is mainly used for buoy deploying and guarding tasks, and about to provide services for Formosa II project from August this year. On the other hand, the crane barge TIPM No.51601 is equipped with accommodation container and storage space. She also has a CR-certified 150-ton crane to support buoy deploying and cargo transportation. TIPM No.51601 will be provided to Van Oord in April this year for supporting cable laying of the Greater Changhua project.
In addition to the vessel services, TIPM also manages the largest offshore wind O&M base at Taichung Port, providing office space, warehouses, berths and storage area rental services. At present, Formosa I and Formosa II have set up the Marine Coordinate Center (MCC) in the base for windfarm monitoring. Additionally, Ørsted also has set up the very first Asia-Pacific offshore wind O&M center in the base.
TIPM is committed to fulfilling the goal of localization, providing the best quality vessels and crew, further accelerating Taichung O&M base to turn into an offshore wind industry cluster, which is also expected to become the strongest support for Taiwanese offshore wind industry.
