Chrysanthi Kontogiorgi holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, as well as an MSc in Materials Science and Technology from the Interdepartmental Master’s Program “Materials Science & Chemical Process Technologies” at NTUA.
She has worked at Piraeus Port Organization S.A. since 2002. Over the years, she has held the position of Deputy Manager of the Property and Environmental Services Department, and since 2008, she has been the Head of the Environmental Protection Department at PPA S.A.
With over 20 years of experience, Chrysanthi specializes in environmental management, port environmental licensing, and the handling and management of dangerous cargoes in ports. She is a member of the Sustainable Development Committee of ESPO and has participated in several EU co-financed projects related to the development of environmental infrastructure, as well as other projects focused on environmental management in ports and the implementation of environmental quality monitoring programs.
Chrysanthi is also a member of the ESG Committee of PPA. She has attended several seminars and has received certifications in various fields, including alternative fuels (Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, Certificate in Alternative Fuels Green & Blue Fuels: LNG, LPG, Methanol, Ammonia, Hydrogen, CO2 Capture, and Zero Emissions Fuels), ESG reporting principles, alternative waste management (Certificate on Sustainable Waste Management – Recycling and Biological Treatment), and the management and transport of dangerous goods (ADR certified).
