Freight visibility tool upgrade
Maritime AI company Windward has revamped its freight visibility software to now include reasons for delay.
Windward’s Ocean Freight Visibility (OFV) solution now reports on all delays of three days or more, categorising the delay as rollover, transshipment delay or late departure.
Ami Daniel, chief executive and co-founder of Windward said that visibility was critical to the supply chain.
“Knowing your shipment is delayed is a necessity, but knowing why your shipment was delayed further empowers customers to take action, save costs, and minimise the business impact of delays,” he said.
“Windward’s new AI-based iteration of visibility is actionable, and reasons for delay is our next step to provide stakeholders with the tools to increase efficiency and decrease costs when it comes to their shipping operations.”
According to analysis by Sea-Intelligence, more than 40% of shipments are delayed with a quarter of these resulting from complications during transshipment and almost a fifth down to rollovers caused by carriers habitually overbooking their capacity.
Windward’s Reasons for Delay is an added capability on the company’s OFV solution which offers Maritime AI Predicted ETA, a tool which uses datasets and behavioural models to provide accurate ETA predictions and real-time visibility into container and vessel journeys.
