Scandlines implements smart port solution

The Swedish tech company Surikat will deploy its Lynx SaaS terminal operating system together with edge hardware at the ports of Puttgarden on the German island of Fehmarn and Rødby in Denmark.

The scope of the delivery includes self-service sales and check-in, dynamic lane management and automated loading and unloading for freight, foot passengers and cars.

“This project is a key step and cornerstone in Scandlines’ strategy to continue to be the preferred choice of travel for both customers going on holiday, wanting to shop in our BorderShop and our freight operators travelling to and from Scandinavia and continental Europe,” said Michael Guldmann Petersen, chief operating officer of Scandlines.

Andreas Karlsson, chief executive at Surikat said the solution will help make the Scandlines ports ‘ports of the future’. “We are looking forward to sharing our accumulated knowledge as we implement our Lynx system, the most advanced smart port solution on the market, and we look forward to a long and productive business relationship with Scandlines,” he said.
