Port leaders have welcomed the European Parliament’s adoption of a bloc-wide port strategy, saying it recognises the vital role ports play economically and socially

But to fulfil this key logistical role and remain competitive, European ports require a large amount of public and private investment, says the European Sea Ports Organisation.
