The American Association of Port Authorities is strongly opposing a proposed 100% tariff on Chinese-manufactured ship-to-shore cranes, warning of severe cost implications for US ports

The tariff, proposed by the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) under the Trump Administration, aims to counter China’s dominance in critical supply chain equipment but has drawn sharp criticism from the port industry.

AAPA president and chief executive Cary Davis testified at a USTR hearing, representing the port sector alongside other industry stakeholders.
