Maryland officials to offer practical insight at GreenPort Congress Americas

Ben H. Grumbles, Secretary of the Maryland Department of the Environment, will speak on the State of Maryland’s progress as a leader developing partnerships and improvements in environmental performance; and R. Earl Lewis, Deputy Secretary for Policy, Planning & Enterprise Services, Maryland Department of Transportation, will provide the opening conference remarks.

Pete K. Rahn, Secretary of Maryland Department of Transportation, will join the conference on 17 May and will explain how Maryland is creating an effective balance of environmental initiatives and commerce.

The conference, which takes place from 16-18 May at Helen Delich Bentley Port of Baltimore, will offer around 200 attendees sessions on climate change and utilising technologies to measure port air emissions.

It will also look at sustainability practices, with insight on what ports are doing to ensure viability in the future through collaboration, design and construction guidelines, energy transition and cost-effective emission reduction technologies.

Ports, industry operators and suppliers will share real case studies demonstrating how they have environmentally improved their own operations.
