Workers at the port, operated by Peel Ports Group, have been staging walk-outs for the past two months in a dispute over pay.

Now the port confirms that a deal has been struck which the Unite union will be fully recommending to its members.

Union members will vote later this week alongside container operators to formally accept the offer.

As a result of this proposed deal, Peel Ports’ chief operating ffficer David Huck and Unite the Unions’ national officer for transport Bobby Morton have confirmed that the strike planned for 14 November has been postponed.
