No Bojonegara rethink
Reports that the Indonesian government is postponing construction of the planned deepwater port of Bojonegara have been denied by officials.
The Banten, northwest Java port is being developed as an alternative to Tanjung Priok restricted by the Indonesian capital surrounding it.
Indonesia’s poor infrastructure has caused complaints among shippers and carriers alike, and the Bojonegara project is hoped to improve matters. Most Indonesian exports are still transhipped over Singapore.
