US SUPPORTS PRIVATISATION OF CHITTAGONG

(ICTSI), Naha International Container Terminal, Inc. (NICTI) to operate a container terminal in Naha City, Okinawa. The US has pledged its support for the modernisation of Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port and Export Processing Zone. US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South Asia, Torkel Patterson, emphasised this would mean the privatisation of existing services.
