SINGAPORE TO INVEST IN MYANMAR PROJECT?

Survey work has commenced on a deep-sea port project at Mawlamyine in the southern Myanmar state of Mon. The new facility is intended to contribute to a major eastwest trade route across southeast Asia which links Vietnams Danang Port in the east to Mawlamyine in the west. These two points will be connected via a 1,000km terrestrial link or by a 4,000km sea route via the Malacca Straits.
