Unity box terminal opens in Colombo
The 330,000TEU capacity Unity Container Terminal at the Sri Lankan port of Colombo was due to start operations in May. Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) granted a loan of $14.91m to enable three STS gantries, and eight RTGs to be bought, while another loan of $32.95m financed construction of the 15,300sq m terminal.
