Chennai looks for terminal share partner

Chennai Port Trust is discussing with PSA-Sical the possibility of sub-letting part of its new container terminal, given that it is currently handling fewer than 20,000 boxes.

Around 280,000 square metres of operating area is currently underutilised at the terminal, which opened in 2009. Traffic is expected to reach 300,000 teu this year, freeing up vacant land for use as a temporary parking area for imported new vehicles.
