Two new ports for Indonesia

Indonesias Ministry of Public Housing is to shortly commence construction of two ports, at Tanjung Bulu and Tanjung Bumi, costing a combined $1.12bn. These will ease pressure on Suramadu Bridge and also at Tanjung Perak port. The latter is operating at its peak capacity of 1.3m teu and is also suffering from restrictions because of silting; draft is now just 9m. The new ports will have a minimum draft of 12m.
