Spanish shipping line Contenemar has asked Vilagarcía Port authority for 50,000 sq m of land on which to build a container terminal. The company wants to move two Canary Island and Moroccan services to the port.

These currently call at Vigo, where Contenemar has an equity stake in box handling facility Termavi, which needs to free up land in order to accommodate increasing traffic from its major customer Maersk.
