China unveils its first hydrogen-electric tug

China has launched its first high-power hydrogen-electric hybrid port vessel, a major step forward for the country in terms of port decarbonisation and alternative fuels adoption.

Constructed by Jiangsu Zhenjiang Shipyard, the ’Qing Dian Tuo 1’ was officially delivered to Qingdao Port on 26 June 2025.
