Green loan drives port electrification

DP World has secured a €25 million green loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to accelerate port electrification at its Constanța South Container Terminal in Romania.

The port finance package forms part of a €100 million investment programme to modernise port infrastructure, replacing diesel-powered assets with electric port equipment, installing shore power and cutting annual CO₂ emissions by more than 6,000 tonnes.
