Klaipėda backs methanol innovation

Western Baltic Engineering has unveiled a new concept design for a green methanol bunkering vessel, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the maritime industry’s transition to cleaner fuels through innovative engineering

Developed to meet the operational requirements of the Port of Klaipėda, the vessel has been designed for flexible operations in shallow waters and local bunkering routes.

The concept features an 800-metric-tonne green methanol storage capacity and has the potential to supply up to 250,000 metric tonnes of fuel annually, helping accelerate the adoption of low-carbon maritime operations.
