Southampton port advances grid resilience

Associated British Ports (ABP) is partnering with BW ESS to deliver an energy storage project that aims to boost grid resilience and accelerate the UK’s energy transition.

The advanced Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be built on a regenerated brownfield site at Marchwood Industrial Park in Southampton, enhancing regional grid infrastructure and supporting future port electrification.
