SSA Marine has completed the full transition of its forklift fleet at Berth 55, Port of Los Angeles, from propane to battery-electric power, marking a significant step toward zero-emissions cargo handling

The conversion of 44 forklifts makes Berth 55 SSA Marine’s first terminal to operate entirely with zero-emissions equipment.

SSA Marine estimates the switch will eliminate the use of nearly 200,000 litres of propane annually and reduce CO2 emissions by around 264 metric tonnes.
