DP World has completed initial testing of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered rubber-tyred gantry crane at the Port of Vancouver in British Columbia, Canada

The crane has now entered a one-year field trial phase, where its performance and environmental benefits will be rigorously evaluated.

The pilot project, launched in October 2023, retrofitted a diesel RTG with an integrated hydrogen-electric generator, battery energy storage, hydrogen storage module, regenerative braking and safety systems.
