Expressions of interest called for Takoradi
Ghana Port and Harbours Authority (GPHA) is inviting parties to submit an expression of interest for the concession of the dry bulk terminal at the Port of Takoradi.
The concession will provide the right and obligation to complete the development, operation and transfer back the Dry Bulk Terminal.
GPHA started the Takoradi Port Expansion Programme back in 2014, it included the extension of the breakwater, the deepening of the access channel and port basin, and the construction of the infrastructure for the Dry Bulk Terminal.
The new terminal will allow for capsize vessels to be handled in the port with modern loading/unloading systems, which is a substantial improvement over the current ‘double handling practices’ in the port.
It will handle the export of manganese and bauxite, and the import of clinker and others. The design capacity of the terminal is about 10m tonnes.
