An ad hoc Senate Committee in Nigeria has accused the Bureau of Public Enterprises of awarding the concession for Tin Can Port to ghost companies.

Intels Nigeria Ltd was awarded most of the port terminals, although none of the successful companies winning these was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).

"There is no record of any kind with CAC to show their existence; no letter of incorporation. The information we have is that the companies are ghost companies," said the Senate committee chairman.
