Brazil set to launch three new port tenders
Brazilian port regulator — and the country’s national agency for waterway transportation — Agência Nacional de Transportes Aquaviários (ANTAQ) has given the green light for publication of notices to tender three port concessions later this year.
The concessions, which will be published in July, are made up of two tenders for wood pulp terminals in Paranaguá and river-side Itaqui as well as a concession for a vehicle terminal in Paranaguá.
The concessions seek private operator investments in return for the right to operate the facilities.
Anticipated total investment is around $118m.
Paranaguá is a city located in Brazil’s state of Paraná, while Itaqui is a municipality in southwestern Rio Grande do Sul, another Brazilian state.
