APM keen on Itajaí expansion?
APM Terminals, which operates the Teconvi box facility at the Brazilian port of Itajaí , has indicated that it is interested in bidding for the area of the port where operations are currently undertaken by the municipality. However, this would give Teconvi a monopoly over container handling, which might count against it in any bidding process.
The port of Itajaí, whose draught was severely limited following heavy rains at the end of last year, has been unable to accept some consignments.
