Antaq moves to protect private terminals
Brazils National Water Transport Agency (Antaq) has issued a new resolution enabling private terminals to continue investing in their operations and expansion, despite them handling third-party traffic.
Those benefiting include Portonave in Navegantes, Itaguaí container terminal and Embraport in Santos, which are investing a combined $1.16bn.
As a result, they can be confident that any investment will not be prejudiced by new industry regulations, say insiders.
